The Judgement of Paris ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Read by Tristan Layton
Covering the years 1863 to 1874 when the Impressionists were beginning to show their work, this book examines Parisian culture and art theory. The painting style in prominence at the time was that dictated by the French Academy and the usuall works depicted historical, mythological, or moral themes, which were yearly displayed in the annual Salon. However, in 1863 so many painters were refused entry into the Salon that a Salon de Refuses was established.
I think it would be a good idea to have a Journal de Refusés for writers. Only stories that had been rejected by stuffy literary magazines would qualify.
Of course, an audio version should be available for those of us who like to listen.
