From my earliest memories I loved listening to stories. I became a competent reader in my late teens and only as an adult did my comprehension strengthen through study and discipline. My greatest loves are words and I take comfort in the act of reading but as my job became more demanding of time, and crafting offered healing comfort I turned to audio books.
Today I listen to novels, history, biography and plays whenever I can. I prefer stories to music when I’m working on a craft project and often when I’m in the car. But nothing can replace the act of reading a good book. I have particular authors who will only be read – even when the audio book is available.
I’m using this blog to mainly document my reading (listening) list. I’m adding titles as I complete the book and sometimes retro-actively entering books that have become my favorites. I have, however, listened to three entire audio books in a weekend.
